Zimbabwean music videos not good enough

Zimbabwe is this year out of the Channel O Music Video Awards as no Zimbabwean Video has been nominated for any Awards.
Although there are not many Zimbabwean videos that have made it to the MTV Base and Channel O playlists, there are several musicians whose videos met the grade and have been receiving rave reviews and airplay on the station.
These include videos from Soul Bone, Chiwoniso Maraire, Andy Brown, Buffalo Soul Jah, Portia Njazi aka Tia, Cindy Munyavi, Prince Tendai, Busi Ncube and Diana Samkange.
It was only Buffalo Soul Jah who has made the nation proud to date after he scooped the Channel Best Newcomer Award in 2008 for the track "Bubble Your Bumz" followed by the by the Best Ragga Dancehall Video award in 2009 for his track, "Judgement".
Despite having made the grade, it appears the awards are proving to be elusive for the local guys who now have to be content with having their videos only on the play list, while their peers walk on the red carpet to collect accolades, for similar projects.
The grand finale of the African music awards that would be held on October 27 at Sandton Convention Centre, will run with 14 categories that will range from the Most Gifted Video of the Year to the Most Gifted Newcomer category.
