Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko finally attended Parliament for the first time yesterday after complaints from MDC-T MPs that he is in violation of the Constitution and Parliamentary rules.
Mphoko walked into Parliament during that Questions Without Notice session.
After Mphoko walked in, MDC-T MP Nelson Chamisa rose on a point of order. "On a very special point of order Mr. Speaker Sir, we have a very special member who has just entered into the Chamber after we have made numerous calls to have him attend this august House. We have the Vice President Hon. Mphoko. We want to welcome him and say this is your House. We appreciate you," said Chamisa.
Two weeks ago, MDC-T chief whip Innocent Gonese raised a point of order with the Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda over Mphoko's constant failure to turn up in both Houses as stipulated in Section 107 of the Constitution and Order 47 of Parliamentary Standing Rules and Orders (SROs).
According to Mnangagwa, Mphoko has his choices whether to sit in Senate or National Assembly.
