Nelson Chamisa MDC legislator for Kuwadzana East on Tuesday proposed that Parliament be relocated to a central position in the Midlands.
He said in the spirit of devolution of power as enunciated in Section 124 of the New Constitution, there was need for government to revisit the location of national institutions.
There are plans to relocate Parliament to President Robert Mugabe's home town of Mt Hampden, about 40 kilometres west of Harare.
IN 2012 MDC had indicated that it would continue lobbying government to build the new Parliament building in Bulawayo to help breathe life into the city.
The Welshman Ncube-led party has been campaigning for the relocation of Parliament from Harare saying it would be crucial in reviving economic activity in Bulawayo.
