There was reportedly chaos at Kadoma town as most shops last week started rejecting rands from consumers who were buying food stuffs at the shops.
This was revealed by Berina Community Radio Station which posted on Facebook that there is now a crisis amongst most consumers in Kadoma as most shops reject the Rand Coins, while some are rating the same against the Dollar which significantly reduces their value.
"The shops however do accept the Bond Coins," reported the radio station."The coins are generally taken on a one to ten basis against the dollar, a situation which helped alleviate the change problems. Now that the Bond Coin is acceptable, a new problem is then in the offing since consumers seem to be reluctant to part with their Rand Coins on a lesser value. Greed or Good Business, that is the question?"
The developments come at a time when many schools in Plumtree were reportedly rejecting the Rands as school fees and levies amid concerns by villagers that since most of the locals were working in South Africa where they get Rands as pay it was making their lives difficult when they children get expelled from school yet they will be having rands which are rejected by schools.
All government institution are accepting any payment in the United States of America Dollars yet the government in 2009 said it was adopting a multicurrency system.
