OPPOSITION MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has said some Zanu-PF officials are secretly engaging him on his party's decision to boycott by-elections and future elections before desired reforms are implemented.
Tsvangirai made the claim while addressing a No Reforms No Elections rally in Kuwadzana, Harare, on Sunday where he also distanced his party from independent candidates that were reportedly trying to ride on the MDC-T.
"They will definitely come. They have nowhere to go. I am telling you that soon I will be meeting with some of them who will be saying what should we do now. But our message is without reforms, no elections," Tsvangirai told the cheering crowd.
The MDC-T is boycotting the forthcoming by-elections and any other future polls on the grounds that the electoral process was flawed to produce a credible outcome.
The decision by the MDC-T to boycott elections has received mixed reactions from different institutions and the electorate with some supporting it while others were of the view the stance may disadvantage the main opposition even in future polls.
