Supporters of the opposition political parties have called for mass demonstrations on the streets of Zimbabwe's towns and cities to demand change as the economic crisis continues to escalate.

Munya Imbayagwo said the people of Zimbabwe must take to the streets on peaceful demonstrations demanding change.

"Boycotting elections is perhaps a necessary tactic but that alone will not bring change," he said.

"The people of Zimbabwe must take to the streets for peaceful demonstrations demanding change and tell the whole world what's really going on in Zimbabwe. Given the oppressive nature of the current regime, sure people are going to get abducted, tortured and killed."

He said, "But we cannot be incapacitated with fear. People have been paralyzed for way too long. The time is now to speak up for change. We all have a part to play, it's not just up to the political parties."

He said everyone wants change yet very few are willing to do what it takes to achieve such change. People of Zimbabwe what are you waiting for?

"Take to the streets for peaceful demonstrations demanding change," he said.
