A MARRIED Dangamvura man bashed his ex-girlfriend ruthlessly claiming that she was still in possession of a condom they had used together sometime in June 2014 when they had sex.
George Matiashe (37) pleaded guilty to assault charges when he appeared before Mr s Annie Ndiraya.
He was fined $100.
It was the state's case that Matiashe punched and knocked down his ex-girlfriend Future Ndebvu (37) after he could not fathom the fact that she had ended their extra marital relationship without reason.
Ndebvu said Matiashe was accusing her of being in possession of a condom they had used on one of their illicit sexual encounters.
"Since I ended our relationship in June last year, he has been nagging me alleging that I still have one of the condoms which I do not know anything of. When he assaulted me, he claimed that a prophet had told him that in the course of our affair, I had not thrown away the condom after a sexual encounter and ended up using it in bewitching him using his semen," she said.
In his defence, Matiashe told the court that Ndebvu had broken his heart by her actions and so his own intention was to break her own heart by physical and emotional means.
"For some reasons I can not divulge to the court, she acted inhumanly by staying with something that should have been a private matter to us and when I heard of it by my own sources, I decided to inflict pain on her physically if not emotionally too by thrashing her," he told the court.
