A VISITING Zimbabwean prophet has advised Zambians to support their leaders and pray for them in developing the country.

Prophet Prime Kufa from the United Family International Church (UFIC) said leadership comes from God.

"As Christians, we must support our leaders, for leadership is only given by God Almighty. We must not criticise those in power but we must instead pray together and build our country and continent," he said.

Prophet Kufa, who was speaking in Lusaka on Friday, said Zambia, as a Christian nation, must make God its anchor in all it does.

He also appealed to political leaders in Zambia to always seek God and His wisdom in governing the nation and continuation of the peace which the people have been enjoying.

"This is a nation of people who love and fear God. As the nation is celebrating 50 years of independence, people should not forget God but always remember Him in all things they do by following His laws. Let us hold on to God," he said.

Prophet Kufa also called for caution over people masquerading as men of God.

He said he is overjoyed that the founding father of Zambia, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, is still alive and that the country is recognised as Christian and characterised by its peace.
