Harare City council summons owing residents

Harare City Council has summoned residents who are accused of failing to pay rates since 2013.

Harare Residents Trust reported that the City of Harare is issuing summons to residents for nonpayment of bills.

"There are some residents who never paid city of Harare city debt cancellation of 2013.

"The HRT expects responsible citizens to make a payment to the council even if it does not cover the whole bill.

"Residents may not want to pay for services not being rendered and only pay for the services being rendered.

"As residents we cannot argue on property tax and fixed charges," said the Trust.
