The Zanu PF Women's League National Secretary, First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe has called on all party members to desist from factionalism, dishonesty, lying and backbiting, vices that divert the party's attention from real developmental issues.
Dr Mugabe was speaking at the Women's League national executive council meeting in Harare today.
Dr Mugabe says women as the pillar of the party should be committed to serving the people and embrace the spirit of forgiveness and unity for development to take place within the party.
She said party members should put aside their differences and start on a new leaf as a team, considering the party needs to fulfil promises made to the people before the elections.
The Politburo should be seized with national development issues, she added.
Resources for the women's league that include 10 vehicles for provincial chairpersons and US$55 000 worth of material for party regalia has been sourced, while the First Lady has engaged the Indonesian government to implement handicraft and food processing projects in Zimbabwe.
Dr Mugabe said educated members and technocrats should be embraced into the party as their knowledge is crucial in the development of the country.
Despite efforts to empower women, there are only 15 female legislators out of the 210 parliamentarians.
The Women's League national executive council meeting also discussed and presented an agreed 2015 work plan.
