Zimbabwe has moved seven places up on the Global Competitiveness ranking to position 124 from 131.

This is highly linked to among other initiatives the country is pursuing to attract foreign direct investment.

Zimbabwe's policy inconsistency and discord in government has often impacted on the country's competitiveness and ability to attract FDI.

The country scored highly in health and primary education, followed by improved macro-economic environment.
