A Zaka man committed suicide by hanging himself after he quarrelled with his wife over application of cutex on her fingernails.

Shepherd Debe (20) from Zinhopi Village under Chief Ndanga in Zaka was found hanging in his house by his wife after he had locked himself from inside.

Police Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkululeko Nduna confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to seek conciliation whenever they have differences.

It is alleged that Debe had a misunderstanding with his wife Lilian Mwadzikova (18) of Rimbi Village under Chief Musikavanhu in Chipinge after he realized that she had applied cutex onto her finger nails.

He then went to Jerera Growth point where he was self-employed and Mwadzikova followed him there. They had another misunderstanding while at the growth point and exchanged harsh words forcing Debe to return home to the village.

He left his wife behind.

Debe entered one of the rooms, locked himself from inside and the hang himself from the roof using rope made from fibre.

When Mwadzikova returned she found the door locked and was shocked to find her husband hanging after she peeped through a window.

Police found a suicidal note stating that Debe had decided to take his life because his wife did not respect him. The body was taken to Musiso Mission Hospital mortuary.
