A man thoroughly beat up his father -in-law for allegedly refusing to surrender his first salary, a mere $150 as payment for getting him a job.
Thomas Ndlovu was reportedly thumped by his son-in-law Fana Sibanda.
Sources close to the family told B-Metro that Sibanda got his father-in-law a job at a certain plot in Nondweni in the outskirts of Bulawayo.
It seems he expected him to surrender his first salary, but he didn't do so.
"Sibanda really needed the money hence he punched his father-in-law. Ndlovu was saved by a passer-by," said the publication.
Ndlovu confirmed the incident.
"I am still in shock. My son-in-law wanted the $150 which I had been given as salary. When I was still trying to explain to him, he just became angry and started attacking me. He then searched my pockets and got away with all the money. A few days later, he sent another man with only $30 saying he was sorry."
Sibanda dismissed the allegations that he beat up his father-in-law.
"I did not beat him up, but I just grabbed him when he was trying to chew the money. When he fell down, I managed to take the money out of his mouth and left. Anyway that is not news who told you," said Sibanda.
