No vendor crisis in Harare - MDC official

AN MDC top official Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena has claimed that there is no vendor crisis in Harare.
Mabhena said people are moving freely on pavements while doing shopping.
"I have spent the last 30 mins touring the City of Harare hoping to see vendor crisis on the streets and pavements.
"There is no vendor crisis in Harare. If you are in Harare and dispute this, just call me on my Zim number 0777427690 and we do a tour after lunch before l go back to Bulawayo.
"If one wants to see a vendor crisis, one must just get to Johannesburg, behind Shell House and also in Jeppe street. In Harare, it is absolutely nonsense to suggest that vendors who are orderly organised on pavements should be moved by the army. People are moving freely on pavements while doing shopping. Let the vendors do their work and feed their families".
The government was forced to bow to pressure from various sectors after it issued a seven day ultimatum to vendors to vacate the central business districts (CBD).
The deadline was later moved to June 26 to allow for systematic relocation of the hawkers to designated areas.
Local Government minister Ignatius Chombo threatened to unleash the army and other security agents to forcibly eject vendors from the streets.
