Harare Residents Trust celebrated in Chitungwiza

Chitungwiza St Mary's residents on Tuesday celebrated the entry of Harare Residents' Trust in their area since 2013.
They have noticed a significant change in service delivery.
The Trust reported that since its entry into the city water supplies improved from one day to three days a week and there have been repairs of tower lights at Chigovanyika, Huruyadzo shopping centre and Chiratidzo Road.
The Trust said the street lights along Chiratidzo Roadn were repaired, there has been improvement in refuse collection from non existence to once every week in the suburbs and at shopping centres collection of Skip bins on daily basis and in St Mary's Paradise 50% of the nonfunctional toilets are now working.
"There is now less multiple sewer burst and Municipal workers now urgently respond to the burst unlike the previous years," re[ported that Trust
"Residents have attributed these changes to the engagements meetings with Council Management organised by the HRT"
The Trust is a lobby group for the recognition of residents' rights to proper and adequate service delivery in the city of Harare and Chitungwiza.
