Gomwe and Gumbura trial dates set

The trial of suspended Zanu-PF Harare provincial youth chairman Godwin Gomwe and his seven co-accused on three counts of extortion involving $46 000 will commence on July 1, 2015, the State said.

Gomwe alias Mambo (34), Muchineripi Mupindu alias Ginya (36), Fidelis Ndaradza alias Brigadier (32), Haruwandi Munyawiri alias Baya (46), Hamphrey Madenyika (29), Josephine Hadziindi (59), Norah Toronga (38) and Moses Handiseni are facing three counts of extortion.

They appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe and are on $500 bail each.

Meanwhile the same court also set July 30 as the trial date for convicted Robert Martin Gumbura and eight co-accused in an attempted jail break case.
