Woman bashes mother-in-law

A Mutare woman has told a magistrate that her daughter-in-law incessantly insults and assaults her for no apparent reason.
Lainess Sekwayo described her daughter-in-law, Emily Murigoni as a violent woman who was in the habit of insulting and assaulting her.
Said Sekwayo: "My daughter-in-law is a problem and I can no longer stay with her. She is always insulting me. Anogara achinditi zibenzi rembuya.
"She recently assaulted me with fists all over my face and I don't know why she is so violent.
"My son is no longer free to associate with me because she says I am wicked and a bad influence to a man I raised on my own, Your Worship.
"She has caused me untold misery and I just want her and my son to leave my home and find their own place. It has been very long since I had a moment of peace at my home. We are always quarrelling and it is not good for me."
Magistrate, Anniah Ndiraya asked Sekwayo why she was always picking fights with her mother-in-law, Murigoni failed to give any tangible reasons.
"I will grant the protection order, but it will bind the two of you. Go and live peacefully as in-laws," said Ndiraya.
