New traffic lights for Kirkman and Harare road junction

Harare West MP Jessie Majome has advised Harare residents and motorists that new traffic lights have been installed at the junction of Kirkman and Harare Drive with fresh road markings having been made.
"After pressuring Council to improve road safety I was pleasantly surprised to see that the intersection of Kirkman Road and Harare Drive now has traffic lights, and fresh road markings," Majome said.
"I hope the traffic lights will be switched on soon. This is definitely a step in the right direction! Traffic lights are also needed at the intersection of Harare Drive and Stansted Road from Mabelreign shops."
"I have been lobbying council to put a traffic light or a roundabout at that dangerous intersection since 2012."
Majome said as an urban constituency MP road safety is a priority of mine.
"In my meeting with Engineer Pfukwa I was assured that council will attend to road signs and markings around schools as a priority, that was last year in August," said Majome. "Up to now there has been neither progress nor a response from council on what they have done. I'll keep pushing Council to repair the Harare Drive Ashdown Park pedestrian traffic light finally repaired after 15yrs, and all the other traffic controls and signage."
