Business mogul Philip Chiyangwa whose Borrowdale house was gutted down by fire on Friday has ruled out any foul play.
Chiyangwa said it "was purely an accident."
"I am not suspecting any foul play because it was purely an accident."
"The cause of the fire had to do with some wires that go into contact and there was a big explosion because of the high power in the house," he told Sunday Mail at Avenues Clinic in Harare on Saturday.
He said he was recovering from injuries he sustained in the inferno. The mansion, which is usually referred to as the
"White House" at Number 62 Crowhill, was gutted by a fire which started in one of the bedrooms and pictures have already gone viral on social networks. The circumstances surrounding the fire remain unclear at the moment but there is speculation that the fire could have been caused by an electrical fault.
The "White House" is famous for its 15 carports, 18 bedrooms, 25 lounges, 4 balconies, 9 servant quarters, 2 swimming pools and 3 heliports.
