Informal Traders in Harare today took to the street protesting against the move to evict them from the streets which comes into effect on Friday.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights Communications officer Kumbirai Mafunda said Zimbabwe's informal traders today "swarmed" the streets of Harare during a protest march organised by the National Vendors Union of Zimbabwe (NAVUZ).
"The informal traders took to the streets after their lawyers Trust Maanda and Manatsa Makore of Maunga Maanda and Partners Legal Practitioners petitioned the High Court which today granted an order interdicting the Zimbabwe Republic Police from interfering with their demonstration. High Court Judge Justice Happias Zhou granted the order," said Mafunda.
Vendors trading in the city centres are supposed to have moved by Friday.
