Minister of Small to Medium Enterprises and Cooperative Development Sithembiso Nyoni and the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Ignatius Chombo have been urged to resign as they are accused of fuelling vending crisis in most urban areas.
Nyoni and Chombo have also been exposed that they are weak ministers and the vendors are showing power over Government and that's worrying really.
According to state run Sunday Mail columnist - Bishop Lazarus the pair "have been a total disappointment" adding that "under normal circumstances, those with honour would resign".
"Ok, maybe the vendors are not exactly showing power over Government but over the Minister of Small to Medium Enterprises and Cooperative Development Sithembiso Nyoni and the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Dr Ignatius Chombo.
"Let me be very frank here - Minister Nyoni and Minister Chombo have been a total disappointment.
"They have not handled the issue about vendors properly and looking from a distance, one gets the feeling that they are bumping into solutions instead of sitting down to craft proper and sustainable solutions to this menace. As a result, the vendors are digging in and they have all the reasons and space to do so" Bishop Lazarus wrote.
"In the first place, these two ministers are the ones that let this menace go out of hand right under their noses but like I have said before, now is not the time for blame games.
"One fine day, the two ministers will have to be held accountable and that day shall definitely come just as the sun will surely rise tomorrow".
About a month ago, the two ministers gave vendors June 26 as the deadline to leave the Central Business Districts of towns and cities, and move to designated selling points but that deadline expired with the vendors continuing their illegal activities.
Bishop Lazarus said Nyoni keeps telling us of her countless yet not so useful meetings with leaders of some vendor associations while Chombo's silence on the issue over the past few days has been quite deafening.
"It's as if the two are not in agreement as to how to deal with the issue. If the two ministers, who baby-sitted this vendor problem as it grew, can't find a proper solution, they should openly say so and ask for assistance from others. Under normal circumstances, those with honour would resign".
