Zanu-PF giving people rotten Rice

Villagers in Gwanda who recently received Presidential food aid of Rice have complained that the ruling Zanu PF has given them un-eatable rice as it is rotten.

The villagers who asked to remain anonymous said they received the food aid which is being controlled by the Zanu PF local leadership a week ago only to their surprise when they opened the packs to discovered that most of it was rotten and un-eatable.

"We received rice a week ago but it is sad that we could not manage to eat it because it was rotten," said one villager.

The villager went on to say: "How can they claim or pretend to be helping us yet they bring here rotten rice? Do they mean that we are pigs? That is undermining us and we are not taking it likely. They must learn to respect us. It does not mean that when people have no food they are no longer human beings like them."

Another villager from ward 2 in Gwanda North said the food was being distributed by the former Zanu-PF ward Councillor Sister Bhebhe who is trying to regain her position by hoodwinking the villagers through food distribution.

Starvation is seriously hard hitting the Gwanda district as communal farmers did not harvest this year due to poor rain falls.
