Man dumps wife for giving birth to disabled baby

A HARARE man yesterday approached the Civil Court seeking a protection order against his former wife whom he allegedly dumped after she gave birth to a child with disabilities.

Chrispen Munhukwa's wife Eunice Dzingo told Harare magistrate Audrey Tarugarira that her husband had dumped her at their matrimonial home in Epworth accusing her of physically and verbally abusing him. The couple has six children.

Munhukwa pleaded with the court to assist him evict his former wife from their matrimonial home as he accused her of disturbing his peace.

Dzingo dismissed Munhukwa's claims saying her former husband was lying since they were not even staying together.

The magistrate granted Munhukwa the protection order barring Dzingo from harassing and abusing her former husband, but allowed her access to the family's matrimonial home.
