ZPP mourns former employee

The Zimbabwe Peace Project has mourned the death of its former employee Karikoga Ernest Mudzingwa who died on June 29 this year.

In a statement the organisation said it is saddened to learn about the sudden demise of one of its former employee Karikoga Ernest Mudzingwa on June 29, 2015.

"As one of the founding staff members, Mudzingwa worked as the Provincial Coordinator for Midlands from 1 May 2001 up to 31 December 2014 when he retired from ZPP," said ZPP.

"The news of . Mudzingwa's death came as a shock to the ZPP family and is a great loss indeed to all those who had the privilege to work with him in civil society.  Mudzingwa a devout Catholic the oldest on the ZPP team until December 2014 was not only a fountain of wisdom but a fatherly figure to many in the organization. Most at ZPP will remember him not just as a pleasant team player but one whose witty contributions at various staff foras will be sadly missed."

ZPP said  Mudzingwa who dedicated his life to human rights work diligently and with a passion worked to expose human rights violations.

"Throughout his career at ZPP Mr. Mudzingwa remained committed to the realization of sustainable peace, justice, dignity and development for all," said the organisation.

"At the time of his death  Mudzingwa was aged 66 and he is survived by his wife four children (two boys and two girls) and three grand children. He will be buried in Gweru on Thursday July 2 2015. There will be a church service at 9am at the St Mary's Catholic Church in Senga followed by burial at Mtapa Cemetery."

ZPP said it will forever hold dearly  Mudzingwa's selflessness and ethos-driven passion in promoting and defending human rights and good governance in Zimbabwe.

"Our prayers are with his wife Mai Mudzingwa and his whole family and friends in this time of loss and bereavement, may the Lord comfort them. May His Dearly Departed Soul, Rest In Eternal Peace," said the ZPP.
