Mugabe promotes senior cops

President Mugabe has with immediate effect promoted four senior police officers to the rank of commissioner and 454 others to the ranks between senior assistant commissioner and inspector.

Of the 454, 14 were promoted to senior assistant commissioners, 32 assistant commissioners, 45 chief superintendents, 86 superintendents, 28 chief inspectors and 249 inspectors.

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said in a statement yesterday that the officers were promoted after a rigorous exercise, which included written examinations and board interviews.

The four who were promoted to the rank of Commissioner are Senior Assistant Commissioners Grace Nomsa Ndebele, Rabson Mpofu, Eric Regai Magejo and Mekia Tanyanyiwa.

Snr Asst Comm Charamba said the 14 who were promoted to senior assistant commissioner were Assistant Commissioners Chakanyuka Prudence, Mlilo Eve, Maenzanise Grace, Tembo Wonder, Ncube Learn, Tayengwa Isaac, Muchenjekwa Ernest and Kupara Dorothy.

Others were Assistant Commissioners Makodza Erasmus, Makamache Wiklef, Fusire Edward, Taedzerwa Munyori, Kwainona Martin and Sergio Isabella Nyarai.

The 32 who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner include Chief Superintendents Doyce Jeremiah, Ngwenya-Gono Margaret, Mthimkhulu Sithulisiwe, Nyirenda Matembo, Mlambo Edmore, Chogugudza Ngonidzashe, Ndou Tsibo, Masocha Garikai, Maserwe Francis, Chirara Fortunate, Jaboon Ndofandaedza, Mumba Anselm, Moyo Ndabezihle and Thethe Sydney.

Others are Mariga Vincent, Mkandla Sitshengisiwe, Ndlovu Panganai, Masepa Cosmas, Nhete Charles, Basera Richard, Hlabiso Gift, Musavengana Charles, Maseko Mavuto, Chihwehwete Crispen, Hondo Ali, Malunga Bart, Mushore Cosmas, Sande Panganai, Marecha Wilson, Mushapaidze Kudzanayi, Ncube Thulani and Munengerwa Ezekiel.
