Chenjerai Hove's body to be repatriated back to Zimbabwe

The family of the late Chenjerai Hove say they are in the process of organising for the repatriation of the writer's body for burial in Zimbabwe.

Hove, a writer and poet, succumbed to hepatic complications in a hospital in Stavanger, Norway, on Sunday the 12th of July 2015 at the age of 59.

In a statement, Chenjerai's young brother Lewis says details of burial arrangements will be provided in due course.

Hove's most popular works include his 1988 novel Bones, Shadows published in 1991 and Ancestors in 1997.

He also published several children's stories such as The Keys Of Ramb and a collection of poetry, among them Up In Arms, Rainbows In The Dust and Blind Moon.

Hove won several honours including the 1983 special commendations for the Noma Award for publishing in Africa, for Up In Arms and the 1989 Noma Award for publishing in Africa for the book Bones.

Chenjerai Hove is survived by wife Tecla and six children.
