ZANU-PF national political commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere, has urged party members to desist from fighting each other and co-exist.
Responding to issues raised by party members over divisions in the party in Chipinge South last Friday, Kasukuwere said leaders in the party should not waste time attacking each other, but should focus their energy on fighting enemies of the party.
He said that it was disheartening to note that there was another "gamatox" in the making in the party that wants to throw spanners in an already working machine.
"These developments are saddening considering the fact that Zanu-PF is working hard to foster national development. There are individuals who are concentrating their efforts in instigating instability in the party. Let me warn them that the party has one centre of power and those elements will be dealt with before their actions spread like fire," he said. Kasukuwere took the opportunity to explain suspended Chipinge South Member of the National Assembly, Enock Porusingazi's standing in the party to hundreds of party supporters who demanded explanations over his fate as there was confusion among them.
Kasukuwere said Porusingazi remained as the legislator for the area. He went further to tell the gathering that Porusingazi can attend provincial council meetings as a party member and a Zanu-PF MP.
He urged local chiefs and Government departments in Chipinge to partner Porusingazi in serving the people of Chipinge South.
"I want to make it clear comrades and friends that this is the party's position. Everyone who was caught on the wrong side was disciplined according to the intensity of his or her case.
"We had a problem with some of our members before December last year who had diverted from the party principles. We took a decision as a party to resolve these matters concerning issues about MPs, members of the Central Committee, main wing and youth wing whose contact had become questionable. Porusingazi was disciplined according to the degree of his case and was suspended. This means, he cannot assume a post in the party or contest for a post as district chairman, in the Provincial Co-ordination Committee, Women's League and Youth League. He is still a member of the party and enjoys all the rights of a member of the party," said Kasukuwere.
Kasukuwere encouraged party members in Manicaland to shun the pull him or her down syndrome, but to channel their energy towards fighting hunger and the common enemy which is poverty.
