Pre-paid electricity system shuts down

Retail outlets selling pre-paid electricity have been inundated by clients wishing to stock up as all vending systems would be shut down for about two days countrywide.
Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company ( ZETDC) would be carrying out maintenance of pre-payment electricity vending system.
The purchase of pre-paid electricity tokens is done at Zesa banking halls, OK Supermarkets, TM Supermarket and scores of indigenous shops.
Reads part of the notice:
"The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company ( ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers that there would be an interruption of the pre-payment electricity vending system on 21st July at 1000hrs to 1000hrs on 22nd July 2015 to carry out maintenance works to improve service delivery".
"Customers are advised to ensure that they buy electricity that world adequately sustain them during this maintenance period to avoid the inconvenience of running out of prepaid credit,".
Zesa started rolling out pre-paid metres three years ago in a bid to boost revenue inflows following a high default rate by postpaid electricity users.
