A Harare woman has told the courts that she has resorted to sleeping in the kitchen to save her life from her husband who sleeps with a knife under the pillow each time they have a misunderstanding.
According to Herald, Teclar Muzarawetu claimed Patrick Madziva dismantled their wardrobe and used one of its doors to assault her.
Muzarawetu was seeking a protection order against Madziva whom she accused of being in the habit of physically and verbally abusing her.
"He sleeps with a knife underneath his pillow threatening to stab me to death each time we have a misunderstanding, she said.
Muzarawetu accused Madziva of telling the public that she was forcing him to use condoms on her only to have unprotected sex with boyfriends.
"He sent me a picture of an axe on my mobile phone saying I deserved to be killed by it. To make matters worse he replaced his profile picture with the same axe written some people deserve this," she said.
Madziva denied the allegations accusing Muzarawetu of having an extra marital affair.
"I never slept with a knife under the pillow as what she is alleging," he said.
Ms Tarugarira deferred the matter to July 23 and ordered Muzarawetu to bring witnesses.
