Tsvangirai's 2010 cabinet reshuffle which saw the dismissal of Elias Mudzuri and Giles Mutsekwa was because Mutsekwa appeared to be working too closely with Zanu-PF and Zwizwai was collaborating with elements exploting the Chiadzwa diamonds, this was revealed in in the confidential documents released by Wikileaks.

In the cables released by Wikileaks, Chamisa gave an insight into the thinking behind Tsvangirai's cabinet reshuffle last year which saw the dismissal of former Energy Minister Elias Mudzuri and his Home Affairs counterpart Giles Mutsekwa while Murisi Zwizwai was moved from the Mines ministry to deputise at Information and Publicity.

"There were reports that Mudzuri was enriching himself through the import of fuel. And Mutsekwa appeared to be working too closely with his Zanu PF co-Minister of Home Affairs, Kembo Mohadi," Chamisa allegedly told Ambassador Ray.

"Zwizwai was suspected of collaborating too closely with Zanu PF elements in the exploitation of the Chiadzwa diamond fields."

Senator Gutu also said Tsvangirai was forced to act on Zwizwai after he infuriated MDC-T parliamentarians by denying reports of violence at Marange diamond fields during Kimberley Process meetings in Namibia.

"Gutu noted that Zwizwai and Tsvangirai are cousins and said this was another example of friendship getting in the way of governing", Ray wrote.
