MDC-T senior member Job Sikhala has said the opposition political parties must be accorded freedom to contribute to national discourse.

He hailed Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta for inviting the opposition political party leader for a dinner meeting with the United States of America President Barack Obama.

"When the opposition is treated as part of the national family. In civilised societies, the opposition is respected as an alternative voice in the nation and must be given freedom to contribute to national discourse," said Sikhala.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta (of Kenya)  invited his fiercest rivalry to a State Dinner for the visiting American President Barack Obama. Raila Odinga was among those on the high table interacting with Obama."

He said Odinga was not sealed off despite the mobilised security forces to thwart any terrorist threats against the presence of President Obama in East Africa.

"In my own country the opposition is an enemy. He must be killed. He must be arrested and stay behind bars until the departure of the visitor," said Sikhala.
