An Air Force of Zimbabwe corporal Tendai Togara has murdered his wife in cold blood under unclear circumstances at Field Air Base in Chegutu.
The corporal slit his wife's throat using a knife.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said Togara, who is now in police custody, allegedly murdered Martha Dondo under unclear circumstances.
The two are believed to have been on separation and had attended a civil court case over the custody of their two year old son.
It is understood that the deceased who was on duty was murdered when she had gone home for tea break following a misunderstanding.
After killing Dondo, the accused is alleged to have charged at a neighbour who wanted to restrain him from murdering his wife.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Charamba called on people to solve their disputes amicably and respect the sanctity of human life.
