Haulage trucks should use Hre-Byo highway not Hre-Masvingo - MP

A Member of Parliament has suggested that Government should force haulage trucks to use the much 'safer' Harare-Bulawayo highway on their way to Beitbridge saying trucks are damaging the Harare- Masvingo road.
The unidentified legislator asked Transport minister Obert Mpofu this afternoon in Parliament.

The expansion of the Harare-Beitbridge Highway has been stalled by a court case involving the contractor
The road has been a "highway to death" due to the increase in the number of accidents on the narrow but busy road.
