Kasukuwere faces prison

Chairperson of the parliamentary committee on Indigenisation and Economic empowerment, Mayor Wadyajena, moved a motion yesterday that could result in the arrest or fining of the Local Government minister Saviour Kasukuwere.

This comes after Kasukuwere did not answer question when he was summoned by the committee in June, instead accusing the Wadyajena of trying to settle political scores.

In moving the motion Wadyajena went on to castigate Kasukuwere's conduct which he said had the effects of intimidating the committee and in particular its chairperson.

He also accused Kasukuwere of breaking the law, after he alleged that Kasukuwere had claimed that he had recordings of Wadyajena's conversations.

He said that the fact that Kasukuwere had such recording was unconstitutional.
