Jailed former Air Zimbabwe company secretary Grace Nyaradzayi Pfumbidzayi has appealed to the High Court against the Magistrate's Court's refusal to grant her bail pending appeal.

Pfumbidzayi was jailed to an effective seven years and is serving her sentence at Chikurubi Female Prison Complex after being convicted in April this year.

Pfumbidzayi is not giving up on her quest for freedom and is still making a spirited fight to secure her release pending determination of her appeal.

Pfumbidzayi through Advocate Webster Chinamhora instructed by Muvirimi Law Chambers has once more appealed against the magistrates refusal to grant her bail pending appeal.

In her grounds of appeal, she argues the magistrate erred at law by failing to balance the prospects of success and risk of absconding.

She contends her sentence is so severe as to induce a sense of shock and she accuses media reports of falsely claiming that she was facing charges of defrauding the national airline of US$10 million.

Pfumbidzayi says she lost her employment and is battling at the Labour Court for her dues and is a married mother of five children who are at various levels in schools making it next to impossible for her to contemplate the life of a fugitive.
