A social commentator and journalist Methuseli Moyo has questioned why the Western countries would seem much concerned about the dead lion than human beings who have those animals at times destroying their crops.
This comes in the work of the world over seemingly to be concerned about the killing of a lion Cecil in Hwange that all the problems that affect the people of Zimbabwe.
"So the West cares about animals in Africa more than the Africans themselves. When elephants destroy our crops and water sources and lions kill our livestock it's no big deal," he said.
"When one 'friendly' lion is hunted all hell breaks loose, literally. Just today, the Chronicle newspaper carried a story of an infant killed during a fight between its parents over food, and the world is not bothered. Nonsense."
