A woman  who was the director of Green-fields Constructors and resides in Lancecrew Chivhu has been dragged to court for allegedly defrauding a Pumula South resident of Z$85 000 000 which he paid for the construction of a house in Pumula South.

The woman's arrest came after she failed to fulfill her constructional obligation agreement as she never constructed the house according to the agreement.

Chipo Marimo (52) was not asked to plead to the fraud charge when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa last week. Maphosa further remanded her for trial.

The court heard that the complainant is Godin Dube (56) and in May 2007 Dube approached Marimo inquiring if she can construct for him a two roomed house in Pumula South. Marimo said she can do the job only if Dube had paid Z$85 000 000 within a month. On May 10, 2007 Dube paid the money but Marimo never constructed the house and instead moved away from the known office.

Dube reported the matter to the police leading to Marimo's arrest.
