Man rapes, bashes aunt on traditional healer's advice

An unidentified Lupane man raped and thoroughly beat up her aunt in the middle of the night on the advice of a traditional healer.
The man aged 32 was told to have sex with an old woman and leave her in deep pain after he was told that after the act good fortune will come his way.
He targeted his 62 year old aunt.
The accused stayed with his aunt. We understand he had visited a traditional healer for help, but was advised d to bed an old woman as part of cleansing himself.
"He discussed the issue with his friend who later disclosed to villagers what prompted the accused to act in the manner he did," B-Metro reported quoting sources.
It is said on the day of the rape, the accused woke up in the middle of the night and went to his aunt's bedroom hut where he reportedly forced open the door.
Despite realising that his aunt had noticed him, he continued with his mid night operation.
He forcibly had sex with her before thoroughly bashing her .
The following morning, the old lady narrated her ordeal to neighbours who advised her to file a police report.
The man was arrested.
