Law Society of Zimbabwe baffled by Dzamara's welfare

The Law Society of Zimbabwe has said it is seriously baffled by the failure by authorities to find journalist and democracy activist Itai Dzamara.
Dzamara was allegedly abducted on March 9 this year in Harare and his where about has not yet been known.
In a statement LSZ said it noted with great concern that it is now four months after Dzamara was abducted with no trace as to where he is now.
"The LSZ is deeply concerned about his welfare" reads the statement.
"The disappearance of Dzamara is clearly suggestive of a abduction is deprivation of his basic human rights which include the right to personal liberty as enshrined in section 49 of the constitution of the republic Zimbabwe which state that every person has a right to personal liberty which includes the right not be deprived of their liberty arbitrarily or without cause. It violates his right personal security."
LSZ said cognisant of the High court judgement exhorting the state through the police to fortnightly updates on investigations into disappearance; LSZ call upon the police to increase efforts to find Dzamara.
