A Harare man- Leonard Shumbaiwe produced a fake payslip in court in a bid to pay less money for maintenance.
Shumbaiwe claimed that he earned $700 after his ex-wife Nyaradzo Mahembe had demanded $1500 for the upkeep of their four children.
Nyaradzo produced the original payslip showing that he earned $1791 per month.
"This is not his payslip. I went to his workplace and I was given the original copy.
"He earns a net salary of $1791 per month.
"His superiors are furious with him such that they want to know where he got that payslip. He has to go for questioning.
"The children need to live a better life, he is not paying school fees for them," said Nyaradzo.
In defence, Mahembe admitted producing a face payslip.
"This woman divorced me, I left with nothing. She remained with the house, cars and property,".
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi ordered him to pay $560.
