The President and First Secretary of Zanu-PF, Robert Mugabe says the gamatox cabal had lured a number of party cadres to join in its quest to seize power as they thought the incumbent had delayed relinquishing his position.
Speaking at a Zanu-PF central committee meeting in Harare on Friday, Mugabe said with all the challenges they have faced as a party, it was unthinkable for party cadres to do such things.
He, however, said the revolutionary party is strong and will continue to urge unity among party cadres for development to take place.
President Mugabe said tribalism is an evil that works against the unity of the people and should be shunned.
He urged the delegates to remain united and study the party's constitution, understand it and implement it.
The meeting is being held at a very critical juncture when the nation is celebrating Heroes Day remembering the selfless cadres who made it possible for Zimbabwe to achieve independence being enjoyed today.
