The Officials at Parliament Building in Harare on Thursday August 6 reportedly interrogated human rights activists when they were presenting a petition calling upon legislators to hold the government to account over $3,5 billion of public money which it could not account for as disclosed by the Comptroller and Auditor General.

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights Communications officer Kumbirai Mafunda said officials at Parliament Building interrogated three human rights activists Irvin Takavada, the interim spokesperson of Occupy Africa Unity Square movement and the National Coordinator of the Democracy Advocate Initiative (DAI) ,Shephered Chidhakwa, the DAI Director and Tineyi Mukakiwa, the DAI Deputy Coordinator after they presented a petition calling upon legislators to hold the government to account over the $3.5 billion of public money which it couldn't account for as disclosed by the Comptroller and Auditor-General.

"The three were only "freed" after the intervention of ZLHR member Kudzai Kadzere but after the officials at Parliament profiled them and quizzed them on the activities and objectives of their organisation," he said.
