Redcliff residents, who are mainly from Torwood, are demonstrating outside the Redcliff civic centre against poor service delivery and the 'unjustified' eviction from their houses by the municipality.
The residents expressed dismay at the manner at which the council is treating them, alleging that their plight and griviences are being ignored and felt the need to stand a demonstration in order for their views to be heard and taken seriously.
At the moment the residents' leadership is engaged in closed door talks with the council officials.
Recently, several families were evicted from their houses, some of which they have resided since 1968, over outstanding bills.
A case that made headlines was that of 94 year old gogo Wutubai who was evicted, but later returned to her home, following the intervention of the Anti-Corruption Trust of Southern Africa.
