A headmaster at Sunview College in Chitungwiza reportedly fondled a Form 2 pupil on two different occasions and threatened to expel the minor from the institution if she exposed him.

Peter Ngandu (48) of Gwarigwati Village in Seke has since appeared in court facing two counts of indecent assault.

He is out of custody on $50 bail.

Magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo remanded him to August 13. Ngandu claims the pupil was a troublemaker bent on tarnishing his image.

He said on the day the offence was alleged to have happened, the girl did not come to school.

"I have enough evidence that the complainant did not come to school on the day in question. Rather, she only came at around 6pm accompanied by her grandmother when she had slept at her boyfriend's house," he said.

Ngandu alleged the girl was in the habit of proposing love to senior boys at the school.

"She would entice them with good quality food, money and her grandmother even confessed that the girl has problems of stealing at home and lying.

"She also called her grandmother's friend in South Africa proposing love," claimed Ngandu.

Prosecutor Mr Tatenda Mukatera is alleging that on July 24 this year, Ngandu allegedly fondled the 14-year-old's breasts and she never told anybody.

This was after Ngandu allegedly threatened to sack her from the school.

He is alleged to have fondled the pupil's back while she was sweeping at the reception.

She reported the matter to her grandmother leading to Ngandu's arrest.
