Mujuru snubs heroes day commemorations

OUSTED Vice-President Joice Mujuru today snubbed heroes day commemorations at the national heroes acre.
Mujuru has rarely made public appearance after President Robert Mugabe publicly accused her of closing ranks with the MDC in an alleged bid to unconstitutionally eject him from power.
The VP, whose political star has been on the wane since the run - up to the party's 6th National People's Congress.
Her no-show at the national shrine signifies that she had accepted her fate.
Mugabe said the national shrine is solely for heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.
"Let me make it abundantly clear that our shrines are solely for our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country...heroes don't become heroes when their dead...kana uri gamba chairo unozviratidza urimupenyu..kwete nekuti wanga uchiita chi MDC nekoko," said Mugabe.
Service Chiefs led by Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander Dr Constantine Chiwenga attended.
Senior Government officials among them Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Development Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo as well as Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Saviour Kasukuwere, Home Affairs Minister Ignatius Chombo, Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Chris Mushowe and War Veterans Minister Chris Mutsvangwa graced the occasion.
