Zapu has expressed concerns over Zimbabwe's continuous economic down turn amid its lack of hope over Zanu PF government ever managing to resolve the crisis.

This was revealed by the party's Department of Information, Publicity and Marketing official Iphithule Maphosa through a statement indicating that the party held its 7th National Peoples Council (NPC) meeting on the 1st and the 2nd of August 2015 at the Party's Regional Offices in Bulawayo where the issue of economy was discussed.

"The state of the nation was also high on the agenda where it was sadly noted that the Zimbabwean economy was spiraling downwards with no hope for a solution from the current government," he said.

"The party noted with concern the levels of poverty in the country, unprecedented levels of unemployment, corruption and lack of know how and political will from the current governing party to sort out the economy from this mess."

Maphosa said in all this, the NPC is of a strong conviction that the only solution lies in an honest dialogue of all citizens of Zimbabwe and doing away with the polarisation that currently is dividing the people of this nation and driving the nation into a bottomless pit of poverty, hunger and silent strife this nation is seized with.

"The NPC finally resolved that there is need for the party to work day and night in conscientising the people of this nation of our clear cut policies that will deliver the nation from these man-made suffering, upholding viability, human rights, servant leadership, devolution of power and international cooperation and rule of law as prerequisites for a prosperous Zimbabwe," said Maphosa.
