A Chakohwa man who served eight-month prison sentence, has approached the Mutare Civil Courts seeking a protection order from his neighbours whom he claimed were calling him a thief.
Taenzaniswa Chamhazhika appeared before Mutare magistrate, Yeukai Chigodora seeking for protection against his neighbour, Martha Saungweme and her sister, Sensia.
He said the two were his neighbours and they are harassing him. "I was recently released from prison after serving eight months, but now when they see me, they call me names and I am now tired of their provocations," he said.
"The other thing is that I was arrested when they falsely accused me of stealing their goods, but when I went to prison they later found out that I was innocent. However, they did not do anything to get me out of prison."
Martha had no kind words for her neighbour, insisting that he was a thief whom they had caught red-handed trying to steal their goods.
She said Chamhazhika is a thief and everything he is saying are lies.
Chigodora granted the protection order saying Chamhazhika had every right to live in peace, despite his somewhat soiled criminal record, adding that he also had to respect his neighbours and co-exist with them.
