Mutare Civil Courts gallery was left in stitches after one terrified woman revealed that her ex-best friend was threatening to kill her using juju which involves a full length mirror and a needle amidst suspicions that she was a backstabber who was having an affair with her husband.

Manica Post reported that all this was revealed after Abigail Jande had dragged to court Dorcas Chidzungu, her neighbour who also used to be her best friend before the latter started accusing her of cheating with her husband.

In her application for a protection order, Jande told the court that their friendship ceased in December 2014 after Chidzungu insulted her and accused her of cheating with her husband since herself (Jande) is a divorcee.

"I am sick and tired of this woman's insults and accusations. She accuses me of cheating with her husband," she said.

Jande also told the court that she feared for her life since Chidzungu had threatened to deal with her using juju.

"Akati achandibaya netsono akatarisa pagirazi ndobva ndafa kana kuremara, akati futi ndichanyatsozviona hangu. (She said she would insert a needle into my body using a mirror which would either result in me dying or being disabled)," she said.

Chidzungu told the court that she had endured a very tiresome matrimonial journey and that she was not going to give up on her promiscuous husband because he was now sleeping with her friend.

"I know my husband, this is not my first or second time dealing with his infidelity issues and it has become a norm that his girlfriends drag me to this court. I have two others who applied for protection orders against me regardless of the fact that I had evidence proving their promiscuity," she said.

Chidzungu said she had caught her husband leaving Jande's house at night on several occasions and that it was evidence enough to implicate the pair.

"I started threatening her after she sent my 13-year-old child to tell me that she was HIV positive and that she was carrying my husband's child. These are all lies Your Worship and that has been traumatising my child ever since," she said.

A binding over protection order was granted to Chidzungu and Jande where they were all ordered to keep peace with each other.
