A woman from Mutare allegtedly duped desperate home seekers of their $2 000 her self in trouble.

Annahmore Rupare (35) denied the charges when she appeared before Mutare magistrate, Sekai Chiundura.

Rupare allegedly duped Lovejoy Chinhengo and Fidel Mambo of their $2 000 cash after promising them that she would secure a residential stand for them in Federation area of Dangamvura.

The prosecutor Donald Mudadirwa said on October 23, 2014, the duo agreed with Rupare that she would secure a stand for them and proceeded to pay $2 000 as deposit.

However, Rupare denied the allegations saying that the complainants were lying.

These people are telling lies. They sold me "Zero" beers from Mozambique and I paid them for that, but Mambo converted the money to his own use without sharing with Chinhengo.

That did not go down well with Chinhengo who lodged this report.

She was ordered to pay $300 bail and the matter was set for trial today.
