FORMER Bulawayo deputy mayor Amen Mpofu has challenged the local authority to account for all goods confiscated during raids on Tuesday.
Mpofu told Bulawayo24 that its possible that most goods were 'stolen' by municipal police.
"I challenge council to account for all wares confiscated on Tuesday by municipal police. We did they take the perishables to?
"If they do not account for the items its theft.
"The Zimbabwe Republic Police should also raid the municipal police house and demand receipts for all perishable they find," said Mpofu.
Mpofu said council has no facilities to store such items.
Scores of vendors lost their wares during the raids.
